Mongolia is famous for the Gobi Desert, nomadic culture, camels and horses, singing sand dunes, dinosaur fossils, forests and lakes, Genghis Khan, Buddhist monasteries, vast open landscapes, and the colorful Naadam festival (which we’ll attend). We will be accompanied by a professional guide, with Matt Ebiner as group leaders. July weather is ideal, mild and warm, but not too hot.

Romania is one of the most underrated countries in Europe, with charming medieval towns, stately castles, colorful monasteries, beautiful nature, and traditional rural areas. Group leaders are GeoTours director Matt Ebiner, geologist Don Barrie, and a professional English-speaking Romanian guide.

This marvelous tour of the Galapagos Islands focuses on wildlife and geology, with many opportunities to swim, snorkel, and hike.  Start in the coastal city of Guayaquil for 2 nights, followed by 10 nights in the Galapagos with visits to 10 different islands.  The group will spend 6 nights in hotels on 3 different islands of the Galapagos, followed by a 5-day/4-night cruise on a yacht with space for 16 passengers. 

Take a grand tour of Egypt’s classic historical sites: the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza; Cairo (Grand Egyptian Museum with King Tut’s treasures; Museum of Egyptian Civilization with the royal mummies; Citadel); Nubian village and dinner; Abu Simbel (incredible monument to Pharaoh Ramses II); Luxor (Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Luxor temple, and Hatshepsut Temple).

GeoTours will lead a 6-day, 5-night tour of Washington DC & New York City, designed for the 8th Grade Class of 2026 and their parents. See the major sites of both cities, from the White House, Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, and Smithsonian Museums to the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and Brooklyn Bridge.
